PRODUCTION SPOTLIGHT: Nelson Vets

The first video which we produced for Nelson Vets was their video submission for the Nelson Chamber Of Commerce ‘Business Awards’. For this we interviewed Jacqui, asking questions about the history of the business and why the whole team loves doing what they do. To help tell the story visually, we then filmed around the clinic.

For these shots, the team had arranged an assortment of animals to be brought in (mostly the teams’ own pets) for us to film. However, while filming, lots of customers who happen to be there at the time also were more than happy to have their fur babies on camera.

The video was a big success, and we were asked to come up with a proposal to film a variety of videos, covering a wide range of the services which the practice offer.

This resulted in 10 ‘Topic Videos’, 4 customer testimonial vids, a fun ‘from the dog’s point of view’ and a step-by-step guide to visiting the vets.

There was lots of surgery footage to be filmed, which was really interesting to shoot. The main thing to keep in mind, from our perspective, was that we need to show the surgery, but not ‘too much’. We need the audience to understand what’s happening, but for the visuals to be not overwhelming for the squeamish.  

All of the videos are being released on social media, as well as their website. The step-by-step guide is also included in emails and text messages to customers when their pet has an appointment. Included in the video is a great overview to show where to park, checking in procedure, what to expect in appointments and the process around any treatments which will be happening. This video will hopefully answer those frequently asked questions.
